The ribbed outer structure helps distribute impact across the surface of the guard rather than concentrating force at a single contact point. The layer of EVA padding provides structured coverage over the shinbone during kicks, checks, defensive exchanges, and pad-based training.

The sock-style, slip-on construction secures the guard around the lower leg without external straps or buckles.
