What PriceFind is

PriceFind records what products cost at South African online retailers and shows those prices side by side. It is an index of public retailer data. PriceFind does not sell anything, holds no stock, and takes no part in any purchase.

A purchase happens on the retailer’s own site, under that retailer’s terms. PriceFind is not a party to it.

Prices are a record, not an offer

Every price on this site is the price a retailer published when PriceFind last read it. Prices change without notice, and a price here can be out of date. The retailer’s own page is the authority, which is why every listing links straight to it.

Delivery cost, stock at your address and promotions applied at checkout are not tracked. A comparison here is on listed price alone.

PriceFind states how each figure is measured on the About page. Use the figures as a guide and check the retailer before you buy.

Accounts

An account is for one person. Keep the password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You must be able to enter a contract to hold an account. Give a working email address: verification, password resets and price alerts go there.

You may close your account at any time from the account page. Closing it deletes the account and everything attached to it.

PriceFind may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless the law forbids it.

Fair use of the site

Read the site, compare prices, watch products and submit links to products worth tracking.

Do not copy the catalogue in bulk, resell the data, run automated collection against the site, or try to break, overload or reverse the service. Do not submit links that are unlawful or that point at anything other than a retailer product page.

The price history, the reference price and the way both are measured belong to PriceFind. Retailer names, product names and product images belong to their owners and appear here to identify what is being compared.

Availability and liability

The site is offered as it stands. PriceFind gives no guarantee that it is always available, complete or free of errors, and reserves the right to change or withdraw any part of it.

PriceFind is not liable for loss arising from a price that turned out to be wrong or out of date, from a retailer’s conduct, or from the site being unavailable. Nothing here limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Changes to these terms

These terms carry a version. When they change, the version and the effective date on this page change with them, and account holders are told before the new version applies to them.

South African law governs these terms, and the South African courts hear any dispute about them.
