The 1598GSGY Polystyrene Instrument Enclosure is a durable and spacious desktop case designed to securely house printed circuit boards in professional and industrial electronic applications. Finished in a matte light grey, this enclosure meets IP54 standards for protection against dust and splashing water, ensuring dependable performance in demanding environments.

Designed for flexibility and ease of installation, the enclosure includes two sets of vertical 1.5 mm PCB guides molded into the front and rear halves, along with integral horizontal Eurocard mounts for versatile board positioning. PC card standoffs are molded into the top and bottom halves and require #6 x 1/4" (6.4 mm) screws (part number 1598ATS100, sold separately).

The standard version is molded from flame-retardant ABS plastic carrying a UL94 V-0 rating and features 1.6 mm brushed aluminum front and rear panels for added strength and a professional finish. The enclosure halves are secured with M3 x 0.5" x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into tapped brass bushings, making it ideal for applications requiring repeated assembly and disassembly.

An economy version is also available, molded from general-purpose ABS (non-flame-retardant) and secured with self-tapping screws into plastic standoffs, suited for light-duty use.
