The ACEBOTT Trace Sensor is an advanced sensor system specifically designed for intelligent vehicles to enable precise route tracing and navigation. The system utilises three infrared sensors that detect ground lines, such as black lines, by transmitting and receiving infrared signals. The sensors allow for responsive control actions based on detection results, making it ideal for line-following applications.
Each infrared sensor in the system has a transmitter and receiver tube. The transmitter emits infrared light at a specific frequency, and the receiver detects the strength of the reflected signal, which varies based on the colour and material of the surface. By interpreting these signal strengths, the Trace Sensor can identify whether the vehicle is aligned with the designated path, ensuring accurate line tracking and navigation.
