Composites and nanocomposites are used in cases where long durability and strength of components are required, such as drills used in oil and gas production where parts under collision, impact, and rotating motion are subjected to high stress levels, erosion processes, and multiphase environments. This book provides a guide for new nanocomposites, mainly based on carbon nanotubes. It makes a comparative study of fiber-reinforced composites which have been embedded into the matrix with nanocomposites containing nanotubes in lieu of fibers.
