Merchant Tips & Usage

• The Perfect Strength Mix: To achieve a standard 25MPa strength, we recommend mixing 1 cubic metre of Concrete Mix with approximately 10 to 12 bags (50kg) of 42.5N Cement.

• Water Ratio: Add water gradually until you reach a thick, "porridge-like" consistency. Avoid over-watering, as too much water weakens the final concrete strength.

• Coverage Guide: 1m3 of concrete mix will cover approximately 10 square metres at a standard depth of 100mm.

• Does this mix contain cement? No; this is a blend of sand and stone only. You must purchase Cement separately to create concrete.

• Can I use this for wall plastering? No; the stones in this mix are too large for plastering. For walls, use Plaster Sand.

• Will 1m3 fit on my 1-ton bakkie? No; 1m3 of concrete mix is very heavy (approx. 1.8 tons) and will exceed the capacity of a standard 1-ton bakkie.

• How soon can I walk on the concrete? While it sets in hours, you should wait at least 48 hours before walking on it and 7 to 14 days before driving a vehicle over it.

 

Important Delivery Information

• Bulk Delivery: Delivered via a tip-truck. The material is tipped in a heap; manual spreading or moving to a specific spot is the responsibility of the customer.

• Site Access: Ensure your delivery point has a firm ground surface and clear overhead clearance for the truck to tip safely.

• Non-Returnable: Bulk aggregates are non-returnable once they have been loaded or tipped on-site.
