When the valve is closed, the gauge returns to the O position once all the excess gas is depleted in the hose. In cooler environments, the pressure inside the cylinder will lessen slightly, this will have a small effect reading the gauge - This is normal. The gauge only works when the cylinder valve is open. The gauge does not need to be reset, the gauge returns to O when the gas supply has been shut off. When the needle approaches the YELLOW bar, this indicates that the cylinder is running out of gas. Refilling the cylinder will be advisable.
