The ASUS USB-AC58 Wi-Fi 5 Dual-Band Wireless USB Adapter is a USB 3.0 wireless LAN adapter for desktop and laptop computers, supporting Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) dual-band connectivity and WPA3 security. It connects through USB 3.0 and supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards across 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. The AC1300 class wireless performance supports up to 400 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. Two detachable dual-band 5 dBi high-gain antennas support extended signal coverage, and the bundled USB extension cable allows flexible placement to help optimise reception.

The AC58 is plug and play, but in some instances, driver installation is required. Windows may install a default driver automatically; however, for stable operation install the latest ASUS USB-AC58 driver package (Version 20211108 or later) from the official ASUS support site. Windows 11 systems require installation of the Windows 10 driver package. Supported operating systems include Windows 7, Windows 10, macOS up to 10.15, and Linux kernel up to 5.3.

HOW TO USE

Connect the USB-AC58 to an available USB 3.0 port on your computer. Download and install the latest ASUS USB-AC58 driver package (Version 20211108 or later) from the official ASUS support site before connecting to Wi-Fi. Windows 11 users should install the Windows 10 driver package. After installation, use your operating system's wireless settings or the WPS button to complete network setup.
