Water leaks often begin with a small drip under a sink, behind a washing machine or near a water heater. If they are not detected quickly, they can lead to damaged flooring, swollen cabinets, mould, electrical hazards and expensive repairs.

This wired water leak alarm system is designed to provide local, multi-area protection for homes, apartments, rental properties, offices, utility rooms and other water-risk areas. The kit combines a control unit, one DN20 brass valve with electric actuator, and eight wired water leak sensors so that multiple areas can be monitored from one central controller.

Place the sensors near common leak points such as kitchen cupboards, bathroom floors, toilets, washing machine connections, water heaters, pipe joints and utility areas. When water is detected by a connected sensor, the controller provides an audible alarm and activates the relevant LED indicator. The valve can then close the water supply automatically to help limit continued water flow.

The system is controlled locally through the RESET, OPEN and CLOSE buttons on the controller. It does not require Wi-Fi, a smartphone application or cloud connectivity. This makes it a practical solution for users who prefer a straightforward wired system with direct on-site control.

The DN20 brass valve is designed for installation in a compatible 3/4 inch water pipe connection. The valve should be installed inline with the water supply by a suitably qualified plumber or experienced installer. Always check your existing pipe size, thread type and installation space before placing an order.

With up to eight sensor inputs and a listed sensor cable length of 6 metres, the system can be arranged around several water-risk points. The wired connection provides a stable local connection between the sensors and controller without relying on wireless signal strength.

How It Works

1. Install the DN20 brass valve inline with a compatible water supply pipe.
2. Place the wired leak sensors at low points and near areas where water may collect.
3. Connect the sensors and valve actuator to the control unit.
4. Connect the DC 5V power adapter and test the RESET, OPEN and CLOSE functions.
5. If water reaches a connected sensor, the controller activates the alarm and can close the water valve automatically.Important Installation Information

This is a wired water leak detection and automatic valve closure system. It does not support Wi-Fi, smartphone applications, remote monitoring or cloud notifications.

The included valve is the DN20 / 3/4 inch version. Please confirm that this size and thread type are compatible with your existing plumbing before ordering.

Professional plumbing installation is recommended for installing the valve into a pressurised water line.

The controller and power adapter should be installed in a dry, protected location. Do not place the control unit or power adapter where they can be directly exposed to water.

The system must remain connected to its DC power supply for continuous monitoring and automatic valve operation.

The supplied power adapter has an EU-style plug. A suitable South African plug adapter may be required and is not included unless stated separately in the package contents.

The sensors should be positioned near possible leak points, but they should not be submerged or intentionally exposed to continuous water flow.
