Bamboo Tea Tray with Liftable Top for Drainage & Brass Detail Inset

On a visit to Japan, you would notice the practice of "Moritsuke", the Japanese art of food plating and serving. It is about paying attention to the aesthetics of the dining experience, including what crockery, cutlery and servers to select, how the table is set, and what trays to serve on. This serving tea-cup tray offers a visual ethic that is in keeping with the restrained elegance of its Japanese design, and also presents a practical solution to spills! The tray is crafted out of recycled bamboo that has been finished with a dark brown polish. There is an etched design of a stylised lotus. The entire top layer lifts off, revealing a box-like undercarriage to catch the spills. There is a drainage grill in the centre of the tray and a further square open grill, covered by a decorative brass with an openwork design for drainage. The tray is a 2-cup, 2-mug or 2-glass size, which is a comfortable size to carry. It measures 32 cm length x 15 cm width, and 4 cm height. It weighs 640 grams. The mugs and teaspoon used in the shoot are purely to demonstrate the tray in real use!
