Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Do I keep the microparticle filter inside when vacuuming liquids? No. For dry vacuuming, ensure the reusable microparticle filter is securely fitted. However, before transitioning to wet vacuuming or extracting liquid spills, you must remove the dry filter to prevent it from absorbing water, and install the supplied foam filter over the motor cage.

2. How do I activate the blower function? Converting the machine into a blower takes seconds. Disconnect the flexible vacuum hose from the front intake port and firmly lock it into the blower port located at the back of the motor head unit.

3. Is this vacuum bagless or does it require dust bags? The Tough 12 can be run bagless for general wet or dry cleaning as debris goes straight into the 12-litre polymer tank. However, using a dry collection bag over the internal inlet port is recommended when vacuuming ultra-fine dust (like plasterboard or concrete residue) to provide dual-stage filtration and keep the motor completely clear.

4. Can I wash the main filter? Yes. The microparticle filter is fully washable. To clean it, simply tap off loose dust and rinse it thoroughly under cool, running tap water. Ensure it is left to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before replacing it in the unit.
