Their origins lost in the oral tradition, these stories from across Berkshire reflect the wisdom (and eccentricities) of the counties and its people.Berkshire has a rich and diverse collection of tales, from stories of battles and heroic deeds to tragic love affairs, and of course the famous legends of Herne the Hunter, Wayland the Smith and the myths surrounding the Uffingham White Horse. These highly readable tales, illustrated with intricate line drawings, bring alive the landscape of the county's rolling hills and fertile plains.
