BlockX Soft Pastel 24 Piece Set Assorted Colours Writing Drawing Tools

Among the great means of artistic expression, pastels stand alongside oil and watercolor as one of the core mediums for painters. BlockX pastels, soft and velvety in texture, are handmade and assembled into non-friable sticks that offer remarkable coverage. With 204 shades available, these dry pastels can be used on various surfaces, though they truly shine on special pastel papers. Their vivid, luminous, and fresh colors provide rich saturation, offering an exceptional artistic experience. Ready to use and capable of being diluted with water, these pastels are also perfectly lightfast, ensuring your artwork stands the test of time.

BlockX has been crafting high-quality artist colors in Belgium since 1865. Their pastels are produced using the same traditional methods they've perfected over more than a century. Pigments, meticulously selected from around the world, are used in their pure form without any bulking agents, resulting in maximum color intensity and saturation. The slow, careful mixing and grinding process-utilizing a cylindrical porphyry stone-ensures a fine, smooth texture while preventing the colors from overheating. This method preserves the quality and purity of the pigments, which have been celebrated by renowned artists such as Salvador Dalí, Edward Hopper, Camille Pissarro, and René Magritte.
