1. Can this charger be used to charge Bosch Green (Home & Garden) 18V DIY batteries? No. The GAL 18V-40 is specifically designed for slide-on Bosch Professional (Blue range) batteries and AMPShare alliance partners. It does not fit the structural terminal alignment of the "Power For All" Bosch Green DIY battery range.

2. What does charging to "80%" mean, and why does the indicator change? Lithium-ion batteries charge exceptionally fast up to 80% capacity (known as the bulk charge phase). After reaching 80%, the GAL 18V-40 automatically shifts to a slower, balancing "trickle charge" mode to protect the health of the individual cells and prevent overheating. The charger will indicate via the LED light when the battery is safe to pull at 80% for rapid site work.

3. Does this charger have a built-in cooling fan? No. To keep its profile ultra-compact and completely silent during operation, the GAL 18V-40 uses pass-through convective cooling vents rather than an active mechanical fan.

4. Can I safely leave a power tool battery on this dock overnight? Yes. The intelligent electronic monitoring system automatically cuts off power delivery completely once the battery reaches 100% capacity, meaning there is zero risk of overcharging, short-circuiting, or damaging the cells.
