Bottled Ambition

The winelands of the world are home to some of the most beautiful places on earth.

But, they are also the battleground of the super elite, where bottles of the best wine

will fetch a princely sum and having mere millions makes you a pauper amongst

kings.

The glamorous, yet cut-throat world of wine provides Delphine, a difficult yet talented winemaker, with a backdrop where she endeavours to become the first South African woman to win a globally coveted Platinum Verser Award. Delphine's world is fraught with vanity, ambition, extra-marital affairs, and colossal amounts of money. A rebellious and penniless outsider, she takes on an industry riddled with ego and privilege to save a legacy and perfect the art of poetry in a bottle.

From the streets of London, Paris and Los Angeles to the vineyards of Argentina and South Africa, Delphine embarks on a gladiatorial journey to reclaim her heritage and leave a mark that will forever change the wine industry as it is known. Along the way, we also meet a six-foot-seven love interest, a cast of neurotic artists and winemakers, and the neglected, yet over-privileged housewives of Stellenbosch, who've had enough of being nothing more than ladies who lunch.
