The Foundation Specialist: Pre-Blended for Speed and Consistency

Take the guesswork out of high-volume construction with our Builders Mix Concrete Aggregate, available in bulk per cubic metre (m3). This is the professional's choice for sites where speed and efficiency are critical. Instead of managing separate piles of sand and stone, this pre-blended mix provides the perfect structural ratio of washed river sand and crushed 19mm stone, ready for the addition of cement.

Whether you are pouring a large-scale foundation, casting a driveway, or installing heavy-duty surface beds, our Builders Mix ensures that every wheelbarrow has the same consistent ratio, leading to a more uniform and reliable concrete strength across your entire project.

Key Benefits:

  • Optimized Structural Ratio: Professionally blended with the ideal proportions of sharp sand and 19mm aggregate to ensure maximum mechanical bonding with cement.

  • Site Efficiency: Reduces the space required for material storage and cuts down on the labor time usually spent measuring out separate ratios of sand and stone.

  • Consistent Quality: Eliminates the risk of human error in ratio batching, ensuring that the structural integrity of your slab or foundation is consistent from start to finish.

  • Cost-Effective Bulk Pricing: Purchasing per cubic metre (m3) is the most economical solution for large residential and commercial developments.

Ideal For:

  • Large Foundations: The standard solution for strip footings and house slabs in residential construction.

  • Driveways & Pavements: Provides a high-density base and structural layer capable of supporting heavy vehicle loads.

  • Surface Beds & Slabs: Ideal for workshop floors, garage slabs, and large outdoor patio areas.

  • Civil Engineering Projects: Used extensively for walkways, kerb-bedding, and non-structural retaining wall bases.

Important Delivery Information

  • Bulk Tip-Truck Delivery: This product is delivered loose via a tipper truck. Ensure your drop-off point is accessible and clear of debris.

  • Surface Requirements: The delivery truck requires a firm, level surface. Trucks cannot tip on soft sand or uncompacted soil without the risk of getting stuck or damaging property.

  • Overhead Clearance: Please check for low-hanging branches or power lines that may obstruct the truck’s tipping height.

  • Non-Returnable: As a bulk yard product, once the material has been tipped on-site, it cannot be returned or exchanged.

Merchant Tips & Usage

  • The Mixing Formula: For a standard 25MPa structural concrete, mix 1 part cement with approx. 4 to 5 parts of this Builders Mix.

  • Cement Requirement: For 1 cubic metre (m3) of this mix, you will typically need 5.5 to 7 bags (50kg) of cement depending on the required strength.

  • Curing Tip: Once your concrete is poured, keep it damp for at least 7 days. This "curing" process prevents the concrete from drying too quickly and ensures it reaches its full engineered strength.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • Does "Builders Mix" include cement? No. This is a bulk aggregate mix of sand and stone only. Cement must be purchased separately.

  • Is this different from "Concrete Mix"? In the trade, "Builders Mix" and "Concrete Mix" are often used interchangeably to describe this pre-blended sand and stone aggregate.

  • How much area does 1m3 cover? At a standard slab thickness of 100mm, 1 cubic metre will cover 10 square metres.

  • Can I use this for plastering? No. This mix contains 19mm stones which are too large for plastering. For walls, please use Builders Plaster Sand.
