This product is an audio common ground isolator, effective against noise caused by a common ground between the audio source and receiver.

Simply put, common grounding means that the grounding points of two electrical devices are not at the same point. Due to the difference in ground resistance, noise can be transmitted into the electrical devices through the ground wire, causing interference. Because the two devices have different grounding points, common ground noise can occur. This can manifest in the car audio system as an audible interference, a whistling-like buzzing sound. The frequency of this noise varies with engine speed.

Therefore, this product can only eliminate the noise and electrical current noise caused by common power and common ground products. It cannot eliminate noise caused by other reasons, so you must personally identify the source of the noise.

To determine whether the noise is caused by common grounding:

1. Connect headphones to the AUX (3.5mm jack) of your car MP3 player or car navigation system. If the sound from the headphones is clear, the noise in the car equipment is confirmed to be caused by common grounding.

2. Use an audio cable to connect a battery-powered cell phone or MP3 player (note that the phone or MP3 player should not be connected to any other power source in the car, such as a telephone) to the AUX port on the center console. Play music from the phone. If there is no noise, the previous noise is confirmed to be caused by a common ground.

3. Computer, amplifier, stereo, CD player: Use passive headphones to plug into the computer to check for noise. Plug the phone into the amplifier or stereo to check for noise. If there is no noise when listening to either separately, it is generally confirmed that the problem is a common ground.

4. After starting the car, the installed amplifier makes a whirring sound. Some models also experience a whirring sound as the accelerator is increased. This product can resolve this issue.

5. If there is a whirring sound between the amplifier and speakers or the stereo, install this product between the amplifier and speakers.

6. When the laptop is connected to a projector and an amplifier at the same time, noise occurs. You can connect the laptop to an adapter power source or use a battery. At this time, the noise disappears when you unplug the amplifier, or the noise also disappears when you unplug the projector. Then you can add a common ground isolator between the headphone jack of the computer and the amplifier to eliminate the noise.
