Explanations of basic principles, concepts and processes are supported by illustrations and case studies demonstrating the relevance of weather and climate to issues in ordinary life - skin cancer, crop growth, weather forecasting, air pollution. Focussing particularly on the Southern hemisphere, the authors insights into topcal environmental concerns including: climate change, global warming, hazards, sustainable population, environmental degradation, agriculture and drought.
