The comfrey plant has a long history in traditional gardening and wellness. Known by its botanical name, Symphytum officinale, this hardy perennial comfrey herb is used around the world for centuries for its herbal properties to heal people and animals as well as enriching local soil as a fertiliser. The leaves of comfrey contain allantoin and tannin that promotes new cell generation. It also contains rosamarinic acid which helps in the reduction of phytochemicals.
Traditionally well known and widely used by early Greeks and Romans, comfrey's botanical name symphytum is derived from the Greek word symphyo, meaning to "make grow together". Comfrey has been prized since ancient times for its ability to help heal broken and fracturedbones and damaged tissues.
Comfrey relieves pain and inflammation caused by injuries and degeneration, especially the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
We carefully dry and cut the comfrey leaves to ensure you get a high-quality product for your external applications.
Cut, driedand sifted comfrey leaves.
Using a glass bottle, create a comfrey oil extract or infusion by soakingleaves in good quality oil for a minimum of six weeks in a cool, dark place to make skin salves, balms, creams, etc. Shake the bottle regularly to ensure that all leaves are extracted optimally. Once the six weeks are complete, strain the leaves from the oil, discarding the leaves, as all the beneficial properties have been extracted into the oil.
Use the oil on its own for its healing properties.
