Discourse Analysis for Language Teachers

Discourse analysis is an area of immediate interest to language teachers because it involves the way people use language in real situations. Different models of analysis of both spoken and written language are outlined and evaluated in terms of their usefulness to language teachers. This is followed by chapters on discourse-oriented approaches to grammar, vocabulary, and phonology.
