Key Features of FC 26

  • Dual gameplay presets: Competitive and Authentic, letting players choose a fast-paced, dynamic style or a more realistic, tactical match feel.
  • Improved fundamentals: more responsive dribbling, tighter passing, better movement & acceleration/deceleration.
  • Revamped goalkeeping: smarter positioning, better deflection control, more realistic saves.
  • Enhanced physicality & shielding: better outcomes when shielding, stronger differentiations between players in physical duels.
  • New PlayStyles & Roles: additions like Enforcer, Aerial Fortress, Precision Header, Gamechanger, etc., plus new player roles (e.g. Box Crasher, Inverted Wingback).
  • Shot mechanics changes: Low-Driven shots are back; Timed Finishing has been removed; also, Trivela shots tied to specific PlayStyles rather than being broadly available.
  • Defensive improvements: better interceptions, more intelligent defender positioning / off-ball movement, less exploitable bouncing of tackles & blocks.
  • Accessibility enhancements: new high-contrast mode, customizable pitch saturation, improved subtitles & visual clarity, etc. Curb Cuts+1
  • Reduced input delay and improved animation transitions for smoother, more responsive play.

What's New vs FC 25

  • Removal of Timed Finishing in favor of manual Low-Driven shots.
  • New dual game modes (Authentic vs Competitive) so gameplay can be tuned to preferred style. FC 25 didn't have this split.
  • More advanced and varied PlayStyles & Player Roles vs FC 25's system; more flexibility, better differentiation.
  • Goalkeepers are smarter: better positioning, more realistic deflections, fewer cheap rebound/deflection goals.
  • Improved physical play: stricter handling of shielding, more meaningful strength differences and physical matchups. FC 25 had physicality, but complaints remained about consistency.
  • Enhanced defensive AI & off-ball movement (player intelligence), better reaction from defenders/goalkeepers to runs, passes.
  • More inclusive / accessibility features in FC 26, e.g. high contrast mode, customizable visual settings. These are newer than what was broadly available in FC 25.
