Description

First Dutch Brands Metal Shed features two sliding doors and one side window, offering easy access and ventilation. It boasts a loading capacity of 70kg/m², making it durable for various uses. The unique perforated panel design (0.25mm) adds both functionality and style, while the colour-coated corrugated board (CGCC) and 0.4mm zinc steel door frame (SGCC) ensure strength and longevity. With a wall height of 1750mm and a floor area of 5.52m², this unit provides ample space for storage or other purposes. The foundation is included, though the floor is not, and assembly is required. For safety, protective gear should be worn during assembly due to sharp edges.

 

                                     10 Year Anti-Perforation Warranty

FDB Metal Sheds are made from galvanized powder coated steel. These are supplied with a 10-year Anti-Perforation warranty. The anti-perforation warranty covers the repair or replacement of components on which a perforation occurs due to corrosion. Please retain your receipt, confirmation email or delivery note as proof of purchase. This may be requested at the time of any claim made to verify your purchase date. The anti-perforation warranty is applicable subject to the condition that the product has been used and maintained in compliance with the following maintenance instructions:

 

General Metal Shed Maintenance:

  • Your shed should be washed down regularly (at least twice a year) with clean water*.
  • Hinges and/or rollers should be lubricated once a year with suitable oil to ensure continued ease of use.
  • In the event of heavy snow fall, try to brush any thick snow from accessible areas of the roof of the unit.

* Please note that units will require additional cleaning in coastal locations. We recommend washing your unit at least once a month in such areas. Failure to carry out basic maintenance will invalidate your warranty

Scratches or Dents:

  • Any paint damage (as a result of the unit being knocked, dented or scratched) should be touched up with suitable exterior touch-up paint immediately, as some rusting may occur if left untreated. Corrosion caused by paint damage is not covered under this warranty.
  • If you choose to fit a ground anchor, you MUST treat the fixing point area with a rust inhibitor. Failure to carry out basic maintenance will invalidate your warranty.

What Your Anti-Perforation Warranty Does Not Cover:

  • Damage due to negligence on the part of the user, or failure to observe the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Corrosion resulting from the fitting of accessories not approved by the manufacturer.
  • The consequences of the destruction of anti-perforation protection products by an additional treatment not specified in the maintenance plan.
  • Any damages to items inside your shed resulting from condensation*.
  • Foundation kits and parts are not included within this warranty.
  • Damage resulting from walking on the shed roof and failure to carry out basic maintenance will invalidate your warranty.

* It is recommended to keep your contents and shelving a small distance away from the shed walls to allow suitable airflow and to prevent any condensation (if it occurs) from wetting items stored in your shed

Condensation in Your Metal Shed:

  • Units are designed with built in ventilation holes to minimize the build-up of moisture (condensation) inside the unit. However, in extreme conditions (such as a severe frost or heavy snow fall) some condensation may form.
  • Ensure the unit is situated in a well-ventilated area (i.e. not tight up against a fence or wall). This increased air flow around the unit will reduce the chance of moisture forming.
  • A small amount of water ingress may be experienced at times, usually after exceptionally heavy or driving rain. Should this occur please check the joints are still sealed nearest to the water ingress and reseal, if necessary, with a clear all-purpose silicone sealant.
  • Having a correctly prepared base for your shed will help reduce condensation.
  • Failure to comply with these instructions will invalidate the 10-year anti-perforation warranty.
  • We accept no responsibility for loss or damages caused by condensation.

Your Metal Shed in The Heat:

As metal is a natural conductor of heat, your shed will become hot in direct sunlight. Wherever possible, you should avoid situating your shed in direct sunlight and it is recommended to keep your contents a slight distance away from the shed walls. Keep any flammable items away from high heat exposure. Loss or damage caused by heat damage are not covered.

Replacement Parts for Your Shed:

If part of your storage unit fails or develops a fault, please email supplier service department with a brief description of the problems and photographs of the item concerned. If the component failure is due to a manufacturing fault the replacement part will be supplied free of charge. If the component failure is due to fair wear and tear or neglect, the replacement part will be charged at the current retail price - plus any applicable shipping costs.
