Description
An elegant and extraordinary very fine knotted original tabriz/ mahi, wool & silk, 300 x 202 cm (black boarder)
This tabriz comes along in a traditional robe. The herati pattern, also known as the mahi pattern, is one of the most classical patterns. Whoever loves traditional design, will love this carpet.
A finely woven persian tabriz rug, a mesmerising and ornate mahi fish design pattern marches across the central pale orange field of this mahi rug. Darker orange strokes mingle with black accents, which crest the petals of numerous flowers and form the lobes of slim leaves. Each element is perfectly balanced, leaving no space empty but still forming a light and airy pattern. The design repeats across the length and breadth of this beautiful persian tabriz rug filling the warm-toned central area. Two pairs of three bands flank a wider border between them, forming a set that encloses the orderly pattern across the middle. The narrower bars on the interior and exterior are rendered in warm shades with small, graceful blossoms blooming within. The largest border of this beautiful rug is dark, overlaid with a contrasting, lighter decoration of ornate blossoms.
