Description
A Galileo thermometer is a thermometer made of a sealed glass cylinder containing a clear liquid and several glass bulbs of varying mass. As the temperature changes, these glass bulbs rise and sink, accurately indicating the temperature of the surrounding air.
Galileo thermometers work on the principle of buoyancy, which determines whether objects float or sink. As the temperature changes, the glass balls will either sink to the bottom (temperature rises) or float to the top (temperature falls).
