This text book is a study of the contemporary Italian political system, analysing the party system, party organization, formal institutions of government (legislature, executive, judiciary, administration, sub-national government), and the impact of the European Community on the national political system. It covers the implementation of recent reforms at both national and local levels, and assesses the debate on wider consititutional reform proposals. This book is intended for teachers and 2nd and 3rd year and postgraduate students of comparative politics, European government, and European politics.
