Handmade Lariat Style 1,51 m Long Necklace, Earth-Mined Iolite & Moonstone

Lariat-style necklaces are enjoying a wave of popularity in Europe right now. This beautiful 1,51 metres long strand of natural faceted Iolite and Moonstone 3mm gemstone beads, lends elegant drama to any outfit. Created by local jeweller "Afrikay", the pearls and gemstones are carefully sourced to produce a quality and collectable piece of jewellery. The design includes 10 cm segments alternating between the Iolite and the Moonstones. The Iolite displays the classic violet purple hue you associate with this gemstone - very reminiscent of Tanzanite, while the Moonstone is a beautiful lunar white. The faceting of both the Iolite and Moostone adds beautiful sparkle to the necklace. The strand ends in two tassels, eight strands of Iolite on one side, eight strands of Moonstone on the other, each tassel held in place by a 5 mm sterling silver spacer. The necklace weighs 29,7 grams, ensuring that it hangs beautifully. Being hand-strung, it can be folded easily without danger of breaking, making it perfect for travel. As the models in our photographs show, the Lariat style of the necklace offers different ways it can be worn: either by draping the two tassel ends through a loop in the middle of the strand, by knotting it in the middle, leaving it very long and elegant, or double-looped and even triple-looped and worn as a shorter necklace on the collar-bone area.
