The HDC-ED970C HDMI Extender provides reliable long-distance transmission of high-definition HDMI video, audio and IR control signals over a single CAT5e or CAT6 network cable. It supports video resolutions up to 4K × 2K at 30Hz with YUV 4:4:4, making it suitable for demanding home, commercial and professional AV installations.

Using CAT6 cable, the extender can transmit 1080p signals up to 70 metres or 4K at 30Hz up to 40 metres. With CAT5e cable, it supports distances of up to 60 metres for 1080p and 35 metres for 4K at 30Hz.

The HDC-ED970C is designed for zero-delay, uncompressed transmission, helping maintain the quality of the original HDMI signal. The transmitter includes an HDMI loop output, allowing the HDMI signal to be displayed locally while simultaneously being extended to a remote display. The loop output also allows multiple extender units to be cascaded for larger installations.

An EDID copy function allows the system to copy display information from either the receiver display or the local loop-out display, helping improve compatibility between HDMI source and display equipment. One-way IR transmission provides convenient remote control of compatible source equipment from the remote display location.
