He Calls You Beautiful: Hearing the Voice of Jesus in the Song of Songs

From a beloved Bible teacher with millions of books in print, this exploration of the biblical Song of Songs invites readers to find deeper meaning in this poetic book as a description of Christ's love for His people and an invitation to respond to that love with an echoing passionate commitment to Him. Rather than considering the Song of Songs as being only about marriage or only an allegory about Christ, Brestin shows that both are true, in that the Song uses a picture of earthly marriage as a metaphor to illuminate the intimacy Jesus longs to have with us. Seeing and experiencing the depth of his love as Jesus rejoices over them as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride helps readers remain faithful through both trials and temptations.
