How I started my Business with 1MILLION Rand from the Bank

With the high unemployment rate in South Africa, still on the increase and a call for small businesses as a solution to create employment. Many are not yet able to function, due to operational lack of skills, inadequate cash flow (funds) and access to markets. Bathabile Moreki is a Multi-Franchisee, award winning serial entrepreneur and philanthropist who dedicated her life to helping aspiring entrepreneurs to start their businesses and small businesses to grow, by helping them to run formal and compliant businesses in order to be able to create employment.

Bathabile is the founder of Township Economic Transformation in Franchise Eco-System (TETFE) that helps mainly township businesses to access the market, access funding and capacity building to enable job creation for township communities. Bathabile has mentored over 800 young aspiring entrepreneurs and businesses, mainly youth and women owned which are her passion.

This book will inspire, motivate and help entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses to be profitable. Many emerging entrepreneurs, especially in townships do not have enough experience, funds and support to start formal businesses. Bathabile shares her experiences on how she started her own business in the townships and created 18 permanent jobs on the first day the business started to operate and further created opportunities for other small businesses in the area to service her business as well as corporate organisations.

The book also gives practical tools and a checklist that can help an entrepreneur to acquire funding, access markets and much needed support and training from different institutions. Both, government and corporate institutions, which Bathabile has accessed to start her business and also assisted her to expand to three (3) more businesses which created further 42 permanent jobs. She has also expanded to other businesses.

Bathabile is not just an ordinary young woman who was born in the rural homelands of Qwaqwa in the Free State, she also believes that anyone has the ability to be an entrepreneur if they are given the chance and exposed, developed and supported. If only the same effort that is put into the school system is applied. Her philosophy is using her skills and experience to mentor others to be employers and create jobs. She believes that more jobs can be created to boost the economy of South Africa, if entrepreneurship was nurtured at an early stage, as a career path and not be seen as an option to unemployment.
