Introduction To Human Resource Management

Since the mid-1990s, South Africa has undergone a significant transformation, including the establishment of a democratic government and the implementation of laws and policies aimed at promoting equality and diversity in the workplace.

Human resource management (HRM) has also evolved over time to address the unique challenges and historical context of the country, with many HRM efforts being made to eliminate discrimination based on race, gender, disability and other protected characteristics. Introduction to Human Resource Management provides an overview of the principles of HRM, and explores how HRM contributes to achieving not only organisational goals but national goals as well, within the unique South African context. Introduction to Human Resource Management examines the essential aspects of the practice of HRM in the modern workplace.

Essential theory is supplemented with practical guidelines for managing employees as well as other general functions in an organisation.
