Uses:
Hair dye - Indigo cannot be used on its own to dye hair, it must be mixed with pure henna.
Fabric dye.
Soap dye.
Love My Hair indigo is certified organic and Halal and is endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty and Vegan SA. It is a pure plant powder made from the dried leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria bush and does not contain any chemicals or additives at all. Our indigo contains high percentages of the naturally occurring plant dyes indigotin and indirubin.

Indigo is a blue/green dye and must be used in combination with Love My Hair henna to dye hair in shades of brown to black. You can either do a 2-step dyeing process using first Love My Hair pure henna and then pure indigo, or you can mix the henna and indigo together.
Medium brown: 50% henna, 50% indigo.
Dark brown: 20-30% henna, 70-80% indigo.
Black: To achieve a black colour, particularly on grey hair, it is recommended to do the 2-step dye process using first our pure henna followed by our pure indigo.
You can experiment with percentage and application time to get the desired result.
If hair becomes too orangey, add more indigo the mixture. If hair goes a blue/green/purplish colour, add more henna to the mixture. Henna and indigo work together in dyeing hair in shades of brown to black.
You can also mix this indigo powder with one of our ready mixed dyes.
If you want to use this indigo powder to dye fabric or yarn it may need to go through a natural fermentation process first, depending on what colour you're after.
This indigo can be mixed with the Love My Hair pure henna for body art purposes.
As this is a natural product, the colour may vary from batch to batch. It is for external use only.
