The HR005GZ features two operating modes-Rotation with Hammering and Hammer Only-allowing users to switch easily between heavy-duty drilling and chiselling tasks. Constant Speed Control automatically maintains drilling performance under load, while the variable speed trigger provides precise control for different applications.

Designed with operator comfort in mind, the tool incorporates Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) to significantly reduce vibration during operation, helping minimise fatigue during prolonged use. Active Feedback sensing Technology (AFT) automatically shuts down the motor if the bit suddenly binds, helping reduce the risk of kickback. Soft No Load technology lowers motor speed while idling, reducing vibration and improving control before the bit contacts the workpiece.

Built to withstand harsh jobsite environments, the HR005GZ features Extreme Protection Technology (XPT) for improved resistance against dust and moisture. The SDS-Max chuck enables fast and secure accessory changes, while the integrated LED job light improves visibility in darker work areas. The tool is also AWS (Auto-Start Wireless System) compatible, allowing wireless activation of compatible Makita dust extractors when fitted with the optional AWS transmitter.
