Product Overview
The MAX3188EEUT+T is a ±15KV ESD protected, single RS232 transmitter in 6 pin SOT-23 package. This device is suitable for space and cost constrained applications requiring minimal RS232 communications. It consumes only 150µA of supply current from ±4.5V to ±6V supplies. The shutdown input reduces current consumption to 1µA and forces transmitter output in to high impedance state. The MAX3188E has data transmission rate up to 250Kbps. It is EIA/TIA-232 transmitter that converts CMOS/TTL logic levels to RS232 compliant signals. The transmitter output is protected to ±15KV using IEC 1000-4-2 air gap discharge method to ±8KV using IEC 1000-4-2 contact discharge method and to ±15KV per human body model ensuring strict compliance with international standards. It has standard inverting output and it is used in diagnostic ports and networking equipment.
