Medical Implications of Biofilms

Interest in biofilms has increased dramatically in recent years. New microscopic and molecular techniques have revolutionized our understanding of biofilm structure, composition, organization and activities. Human tissues often support complex microbial communities growing as biofilms that can cause infections.
