Auto-negotiation allows the module to establish the highest compatible link rate supported by the connected equipment and cabling. 10Gbps over Copper The module enables a compatible 10G SFP+ interface to connect directly to RJ45 Ethernet equipment using conventional twisted-pair cabling. At 10Gbps, MikroTik specifies a maximum link distance of up to 30 metres using suitable Cat6 or Cat7 cable. Multi-Gigabit Connectivity In addition to conventional 1Gbps and 10Gbps Ethernet, the S+RJ10 supports 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps link rates. Cooling Considerations 10GBASE-T copper transceivers generate considerably more heat than typical optical SFP+ modules.
