Early childhood education requires quality products to address this key field. David du Plessis, author of Mister Sengi's very big friend - a heart-warming bedtime story of adventure and happy endings - has produced an activity book that can be used both as a companion to the story book, or as a stand-alone project for early learners. With 32 pages of pictures to colour and puzzles to solve, and a double-page spread of colourful stickers, this activity book will keep children entertained for hours, while at the same time educating them. The activity book promotes recognition of shapes, patterns and sequences; develops hand-eye co-ordination; introduces numbers and letters; offers an assemble-it-yourself paper toy; imparts some basics about sengis and other bushveld life, and generally fosters a regard for nature. There are also links to a website where further puzzles can be downloaded to prolong the fun.
