Sleep deeper. Wake up clearer.
RestUp Mouth Tape holds your lips gently closed so nose-breathing becomes the default. It's a light hold, not a seal. You can still speak, cough and sip water.
If you wake up with a dry mouth, a sore throat, or the feeling that you slept badly without knowing why, you're probably breathing through your mouth all night.
This is the classic black. Same tape and same hold as the pink and white in the range.
It helps snoring caused by mouth-breathing. Snoring that starts in the throat or soft palate won't respond to tape. See "Good to know" below.
How to make it stick (worth 30 seconds)
- Clean and fully dry your lips. Skip lip balm, moisturiser or oils beforehand.
- Seal it on the lips themselves, not the skin around them. If you have a beard or moustache, this is the whole trick. Press the tape onto the lip line and it holds fine.
- Press gently for 20-30 seconds so it warms and bonds.
- Give it a few nights. Most people say it feels strange at first and normal within a week. Start with an hour or two before sleep if you'd rather ease in.
Taking it off without pulling your skin
- Wet your lips first, with warm water or a damp cloth, before removing.
- Peel slowly from one corner. Don't pull it straight off.
- If your lips feel dry or sensitive, skip a night and moisturise.
Perfect for
- Waking up with a dry mouth, dry throat or morning thirst
- Sleeping with aircon or a fan running
- Mouth-breathers building a nose-breathing habit
- Anyone already using nasal strips who wants the other half of the picture
- People looking for an anti-snoring option who already breathe well through the nose
Features
- Gentle, hypoallergenic medical-grade adhesive. Secure without stripping skin
- A breathable hold, not a seal. You can still speak and cough
- Trim to fit. Cut it down for a smaller face or a lighter hold
- 30 strips per pack
Benefits
- Wake up without a dry mouth or a burning throat
- Encourages consistent nasal breathing overnight
- Simple and drug-free, with nothing to remember during the day
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.
- Keep the pack sealed between uses so the adhesive stays at full strength.
Pairs with
Mouth tape keeps the lips closed. Nasal strips lift the nose open from the outside so you can breathe through it more easily. Plenty of customers run both together, and if you're congested, start with the strips. The RestUp Travel Tin keeps a fortnight's supply flat and clean in a gym bag or suitcase.
Good to know
- Only use this if you can breathe comfortably through your nose. If you're congested, blocked up or fighting a cold, don't tape. Sort the nose out first. Nasal strips are the better starting point on those nights.
- You can still open your mouth. It's a gentle hold, not a seal. You can speak, cough and take a sip of water. It's designed to make nose-breathing the default, not to lock your mouth shut.
- Expect an adjustment period. Most people describe the first few nights as unfamiliar.
- Where snoring comes from matters. Taping helps snoring caused by mouth-breathing. Snoring from the throat or soft palate won't respond to tape.
- Quick way to tell before you buy: if you wake with a dry mouth, or you're told you sleep with your mouth open, taping is likely to help. If you sleep with your mouth closed and still snore, it's coming from the throat and tape won't change it.
- One size. Trim it with scissors if you want a smaller footprint or a lighter hold.
- Adhesive: hypoallergenic and medical-grade. Patch-test first if you react to plasters.
- Not suitable for children without medical guidance, and not for anyone with sleep apnoea, breathing difficulties or heavy congestion unless a doctor has cleared it.
- Drug-free and not a medical device.
