Description
Is noise sensitivity a risk factor for psychiatric disorder? This monograph reports on two important studies of noise sensitivity: a six year follow-up study of a group of highly noise sensitive and low noise sensitive women, and a longitudinal study examining changes in noise sensitivity with recovery from depression. The studies demonstrate that noise sensitivity is a relatively stable characteristic and may therefore be an indicator of vulnerability to minor psychiatric disorder.
