The voltage across both ends is clamped at a predetermined value to protect subsequent circuit components from damage due to transient high voltage surges. This protector can effectively suppress ESD, provide 600W surge protection power per line, as well as surge voltage and transient overvoltage generated on the line due to various reasons, and the small inter-electrode capacitance ensures that RS-422 /RS-485 connection high-speed transmission.
