Protek Two-Step Herbicide 500 ml

A weed is considered an unwanted plant in a certain context, e.g. in your garden.  It means the plant grows where you don't want it, or where it causes economic damage.  A rose tree growing in a maize field will therefore be considered a weed.  Weeds are one of the biggest challenges in our gardens and it sometimes feels like a daunting task to get rid of these pioneer plants, especially after rain, where they thrive on paving, lawns, and in flower beds.

 

It is important to prevent weeds from establishing themselves in your garden by spreading a good mulch of bark, nut shells, or even grass clippings in your flower beds and cutting your lawn more often, but not too short.  This way, the germination of weed seeds is reduced.  Feed your plants regularly with a fertilizer such as Protek's NutriGreenFlower Power in flower beds or NutriGreen Gro Green on lawns.  Plants that grow abundantly will easily crowd out weeds.   Never allow the weeds in your garden to shoot seed. Feed and water plants, including the weeds at least a week before you treat them with a herbicide.  Also always spray herbicides early in the morning to ensure maximum absorption by the plants. Remember that you must do a follow-up treatment every 4 weeks until weeds are under control.

 

Two-Step SC is a systemic herbicide with up to 6 months of residual action for the pre-and post-emergence control of a wide range of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses.  The advantage of the triple active ingredient system of Protek’s Two-Step is that it kills weeds upon direct contact and prevents weed seeds from germinating successfully, it kills weed seedlings even before they emerge above the soil.   The product is best applied when weeds are actively growing. Weeds as well as bare soil in between weeds should be sprayed to prevent seed from germinating.  Do not apply to flower beds or vegetable gardens because the two systemic active ingredients can stay active for up to 24 months sterilizing the soil and preventing plant growth. Use it only where no ornamentals or veggies are grown.

 

Remember to properly rinse spray equipment after herbicide applications as next time when spraying insecticide or fungicide, the herbicide residues will damage plants. To avoid such mishaps it is advised to have a dedicated herbicide spray and a dedicated one for insecticides and fungicides. Mark each one clearly and don’t mix them up.
