Cast iron teapots and lids, known as Tetsubin teapots in Japan, were first made in the 17th and 18th century and after the advent of the Sencha Green Tea, these products became a household item for tea-brewing all over China and Japan. These teapots are made with natural iron; the water boiled in them gives a unique flavour, resulting in the tea brewed to taste better than brewed in other teapots or kettles.
