Airing down at the start of a two-track is the difference between floating over sand and digging into it - and doing it four tyres at a time, with a gauge in one hand and a valve cap in the other, is the part nobody enjoys.

These deflators take that job off you. Set your pressure by twisting the body until the laser-etched scale reads what you want, lock the ring, screw all four onto the valve stems and walk away. Each one bleeds down and shuts itself off at the pressure you set, so all four tyres come down together while you're checking the recovery gear or making coffee.

No gauge needed, no guesswork, no going round the vehicle twice. The scale runs 10 to 30 PSI in 5 PSI steps, and they hold to within a tenth of a PSI of the setting - close enough that all four corners end up genuinely matched rather than roughly similar.

They screw onto any standard Schrader valve, so they suit bakkies, SUVs, caravans, quads and trailers alike. When they eventually pick up dust and mud, the spring assembly pulls out of the body by hand for a rinse - no tools, no disassembly diagram.
