Scientific Weather Forecasting In The Middle Ages

The first comprehensive treatise on scientific weather-forecasting can be traced to Al-Kindi, a prominent Arab philosopher of mid-ninth-century Baghdad. In two pivotal letters, Al-Kindi draws on Greek, Islamic, and astrological sources, setting them in the context of Aristotelian physics to produce highly advanced treatises on cosmology and meteorology.
