The Seiko 5 Sports SRPJ45K1 is a striking homage to Seiko's archives, drawing inspiration from the original 1970s Time Sonar watch and reimagined in the SKX case shape. Its standout feature is a unique translucent teal dial that openly displays the rotation of the day/date disc beneath it,an unusual, eye-catching design element echoed straight from the vintage original, right down to the highlight red-orange seconds hand. The case shape itself pays tribute to the SKX line of Seiko 5 Sports watches from the 1990s, which themselves updated Seiko's 1960s dive watch designs, giving this piece a genuine sense of watchmaking lineage.

Under the hood is Seiko's Caliber 4R36, an automatic movement with manual winding capability, beating at 21,600 vph across 24 jewels and delivering approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The watch includes a day and date display at 3 o'clock, with dual English and French day-of-week indicators, and the movement itself is also visible through a display case back window. A unidirectional rotating bezel and pull-out crown round out the tool-watch functionality.
