Stanza on the Edge

When Stanza emerged from the large storm water drainage pipe that ran to the polluted Juksei River, he was sopping wet - and smelly. He hid until dark and then began the walk home. A few dogs barked at him. But once they got the smell of sewage they moved away. This what a real come-down in the world, to be shunned even by the settlement's mongrels. Stanza vowed to get even with Sporo. The gangsters had obviously planned the whole thing as a trap and had tipped the police off. We will see who is really smart, thought Stanza angrily.
