Why are Storm fire pits pre-rusted, and will they continue to rust?
Storm fire pits are intentionally pre-rusted to create a protective oxide layer on the steel. This natural rust finish improves resistance to corrosion and eliminates painted coatings, so there is no paint to peel or burn off during use. Over time, the colour may deepen slightly, which is normal for untreated steel and helps strengthen the protective surface for long-term durability.
Can I cook or braai on this fire pit?
Yes. The fire pit can be used to braai or for cooking over an open fire. However, we are currently unaware of standard braai grids large enough to fit the 78 cm fire pit.
What fuel should be used?
Storm fire pits are designed for wood or charcoal fires.
Can the fire pit stay outside?
Yes. The steel construction is designed for outdoor use. Store under cover when not in use for best longevity.
Will the steel warp from heat?
Storm fire pits are made from thick steel designed to withstand repeated high temperatures during normal fire use and will not warp under typical fire conditions.

Warnings:
- Keep children and pets away from the fire pit. Surfaces become extremely hot and can cause burns.
- Position the fire pit at least 3 metres away from buildings, structures, and combustible materials.
- Do not use gasoline, kerosene, alcohol, or other flammable liquids to start or accelerate a fire.
- Small amounts of ash may fall through the ventilation holes during use.
- Never leave a fire unattended. Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.
- Do not use the fire pit near flammable materials such as gas cylinders, fuels, or chemicals.
