Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a weir vaccuff and how does it work? A weir vaccuff, or vacuum plate, is a fitting that creates a sealed connection between your vacuum hose and the pool's skimmer. It typically fits over the top of the skimmer basket and hose, directing the water flow to the vacuum head while creating an airtight seal to prevent air from entering the pump.

2. Why is it better than just putting the vacuum hose into the skimmer? Placing the hose directly in the skimmer can cause air to be sucked in from the water's surface, which reduces vacuum suction and can cause the pump to lose its prime. A vaccuff prevents this by creating a sealed system, which maximizes suction power and protects your pump's health.

3. Is the Sun Command Weir Vaccuff compatible with all pool skimmers? The Sun Command Weir Vaccuff is designed to fit most standard residential skimmer openings. However, skimmers can vary in size and shape. It is always best to measure your skimmer opening to ensure the vaccuff will create a secure, airtight seal.
