This product comes with two cards, one card is used as a wallet while the other card is kept as a backup in case the other one gets lost, damaged or stolen. All cards are protected with a password that is chosen during the setup process. Tangem wallet has an EAL6+ certification making it more secure than most other cryptocurrency hard wallets in that regard. The cards operate together with a mobile application on one's phone. The wallet is exceptionally user-friendly and can be configured in just 3 minutes. In contrast to the initial version, the latest Tangem cards provide the option to extract your 12 word seed phrase from the card for personal storage. However, Tangem discourages this practice as they believe it increases the risk of your wallet being hacked in the event someone finds your key phrase. Instead, Tangem recommends opting for a randomly generated seed phrase directly on the card, this way no one can know your seed phrase keeping your cryptocurrency secure. Tangem's cryptocurrency hard wallets have no batteries, wires or chargers and do not require a PC to be used, just the Tangem card and a smartphone which it interacts with using the mobile app and NFC (near-field communication). The card itself is 85.6mm x 53.9mm and a robust, certified chip created in partnership with Samsung Semiconductor. Each card is equipped with a built-in chip taking the form of a microcomputer measuring 1 x 1 mm. The card does not consist of any uncertified or vulnerable elements, thus maximizing the security of the card.
