Turn of the Century Farm Tools

This reprint of a rare farm tools and implements catalog should prove as fascinating to lovers of Victoriana as it will be indispensable to collectors and antique dealers. Published in 1898 by Peter Henderson & Company, the abundantly illustrated trade catalog advertised tools, fertilizers, insecticides, and other essentials for the turn-of-the-century garden, farm, greenhouse, lawn, orchard, poultry yard, stable, and household. Nearly 700 line illustrations, accompanied by descriptive captions and prices, depict the "improved winged shovel plow," a lice-killing machine, butter printers, cast-iron field rollers, manure spreaders, broadcast seeders, corn harvesters and huskers, root cutters, grinding and cider mills, "Siamese" lawn sprinkler attachments, veterinary remedies, and hundreds of other items. Of great value to historians, this vintage catalog will also delight artists and designers with its hundreds of permission-free images. Unabridged republication of Peter Henderson & Co. Catalogue of Tools and Implements (ca. 1898), originally published in New York, 1898. Introduction to the Dover Edition by Victor Linoff. Index. Approximately 680 black-and-white illustrations.
