The 13mm focal length provides a wide 94.06 viewing angle, making it ideal for landscapes, architecture, interiors, astrophotography, street photography, portraits and video. Its large f/1.4 aperture performs particularly well in low-light conditions while providing greater control over depth of field.

The lens features STM stepper motor technology for fast, smooth and quiet autofocus, making it suitable for both photography and video recording. Human eye autofocus and eye detection help accurately track subjects, while the internal focusing design keeps the lens compact and convenient to use.

Its optical construction consists of 14 elements in 11 groups, including an extra-low dispersion (ED) element and an aspherical element to help minimise optical aberrations. HD Nano multi-layer coating, along with waterproof and antifouling protection on the front element, helps maintain clear image quality in challenging conditions.
